Cold? I got you covered...

Down here in the Southern Hemisphere, the weather is starting to catch up with the recent runway collections. As I'm on a (so far) unsuccessful mission of trying to find my perfect winter coat, I realised there's a lot more to it than finding something that simply suits my figure. In my eyes, it must suit my personality. What I find is that what one wears can make a big difference to what others think one's personality is, whether it be true or not.
E.g. a hot pink, ruffled top = happy and girlie (when in actual fact, the wearer could be a depressed tomboy). This mixed messaging system is not necessarily a bad thing. But searching for clothes to suit your personality can become overwhelming and confusing.
So just for a bit of fun, lol, here's a selection of this season's hottest coats, and what message they could send out to the public...

My favourites? The yellow Milly coat (there's no harm in people thinking I'm a fashion editor is there?), and the white Soia and Kyo coat (I guess there's a downside to people thinking your attitude is the polar opposite to what it really is).
Tricky, very tricky...
Not quite winter yet, where you're residing? Rest assured, a hot weather post of the same nature coming soon.

Catch.

Hehe i like the 'im a fashion editor' jacket the best to. I am loving all of these colours and style, they are all so darn stylish. It is a great day for a jacket, now all i need to do is save for one ;)

Your young, I say simple and stylish, but then again, when I was your age, I turned up the volume on my clothing like crazy that ppl didn't have to ask if I was obsessed with Fashion. I would say, to stand out... the rich and fashionable one. I had a similar one in black from Zara. It's subtle but chic!

And... YOU'RE APPROACHING WINTER?!?!?

I remember last year when i was in australia I could not believe how cold it had gotten I had to run out and buy some coats. Do you remember the cotton ones everyone was wearing with the tie belt at the front and diagonal buttons?

my pics: the navy one at the top and the blue one at the bottom.

Go for the yellow one. There's no harm in looking like Anna Wintour, is there? Just don't cut your jair like hers. lol.

This is why I love winter because I have a weakness for coats and winter wear! Great post but I'm saving all my moolah for the CR duffle coat. ;-)

I'm in the same boat as you, also going into Winter...there are so many nice coat styles this season, it's a difficult choice. Out of these I love all the plain coloured coats (except the yellow)the best. The top navy coat is my favourite.

I adore the red coat from Net-A-Porter, but the link appears to be faulty! Who is the designer? I adore the shoulder flaps. :)

Although that's my favorite coat of the lot, the rest are fantastic pieces as well. Spring is turning into summer where I live--I miss wearing layers already! Lucky you.

Thanks for all the comments, lovelies!
Yes we are approaching winter if you can believe it...Although right now we're stuck in Autumn, where its freezing in the morning and hot in the afternoon - this makes getting dressed in the morning extremely difficult, as you can imagine. Lol.
