Making a comeback...?

Mischa Barton. These are two words which almost always cause an irrationally strong reaction in most fashion lovers, whether it be positive or negative.
Cast your mind back to the time between 2003 - 2006...The OC period I like to call it. Little Mischa was the reigning fashion queen of this era, and whether you wanted to or not, you saw her everywhere. Usually looking fabulous. And then, as quickly as it had started, the hype around her faltered (Marissa being killed off of The OC played a fairly large part in Mischa's de-throning, I believe). And slowly but surely, so did her style, in my eyes.
Let's take a little trip down Memory Lane, shall we?

Ladies and gentleman, I present to you, the Queen...

Mischa's style evolves from commercially trendy to endearingly eclectic. She becomes a worldwide style icon, with David Jones Australia hiring her as the face of their Summer launch.

With her character's presence no longer included in the OC, Mischa's star slowly begins to fall. Unfortunately, her sense of fashion ever-so-slightly descends with her...

Mischa has fired her stylist, and is no longer everywhere.
Unfortunately, it gets worse...

An all-time fashion low on Mischa's record.
2008, so far, seems to be her worst year. Or is it...?

Mischa shows up at the 10th Annual White Tie and Tiara Ball looking absolutely gorgeous.
Perhaps she's just been going through a rough patch? Whatever the case, I'm perfectly happy to support Mischa as she makes her way back on top of the style ladder.

Which Era of Mischa is your favourite?

On another topic, Lipstick Jungle premiered last night, here in Australia. The verdict? I loved it! I very much prefer it over the ill-fated Cashmere Mafia. I hear it's already in its second season in the US which is wonderful news. Perhaps there is hope yet for SATC-style shows for the high-powered business woman on-the-go?
Oh and please don't forget to cast you vote(s) in this month's poll on the right hand side of the page. I'm trying to get an idea of what readers think of my blog, so any feedback would be wonderful.

Catch.

Definately 2006 Mischa. That Willow dress was to die for. After that she just started wearing really unsuitable things for her figure.

I would like to see her make a comeback, but then I also don't, I don't like her as a personality much. I don't think she has very good natural style. She looked good in the OC era because Rachel Zoe was dressing her, and she did look amazing!

2006 was Mischa's best year in my opinion. Some of her outfits back then were incredible! She has never been one of my favourite style icons, but I do want to see her make a comeback because she did have some inspiring outfits!

I used to LOVE Mischa, top of my style inpsirers. queue an Elle interview in which she claimed she wasn't part of the 'Hollywood people', followed a few months later by her stoned police shots and i had already got sick of her. but this picture shows she could be making a comeback, let's hope she reinforces her long brunette waves and keeps off the drugs. great post!

how bout you?

I really loved mischa when she was fresh on the O.C. I was so obsessed with her and Adam brody at that time! haha
I think she's starting to look a little scary these days. Maybe it's the eye makeup.

I hate Mischa so as far I'm concerned she could just not comeback at all...hate to sound harsh but I just thought she was overrated (is it obvious that I was a rachel Bilson fan on the OC lol) but seriously everyone was calling her all high and mighty and look what happened when she was no longer on tv. A true fashion diva would have kept the fashion comin'...maybe a little bit harder since she wasn't on tv. Instead she faded..

great post though!

I think I may be the one person who is right in the middle, indifferent about Mischa Barton.

Let's see what she does this time.

Her bright and shining fashion moment was a mere moment indeed.

I know! Mischa used to be so put together! Is Rachel Zoe still styling her? She'll make a fashion comeback. Those cellulite pics are enough to make anyone want to step up their game!

she looked best in 06. this year has been horrid! i think that she just cant pull of the styles she used to because of her weight gain. but her latest look is promising.

2006. Right now she doesn't look good enough for a person who's job discription is pretty much "showing up looking pretty". All those pocahantas costumes and knee-fat emphasizing weird pants & flats kind of ruined her stylish status in my eyes.

Until now: Mischa Barton - 2006 , but I'm hoping to replace that with: Mischa Barton - 2008!
